Well, it looks like ThemeForest has finally pulled the plug on the Mix WordPress theme, so it’s no longer available on ThemeForest. Never fear though, you’re looking for a good looking music theme? We’ve got you covered in this collection. For themes more specific to bands, try this. We’ll leave the original review here for you to peruse, just in case you were wondering what we had to say about Mix. It did seem like a solid theme, so I wonder why they pulled it? Wow, this is weird. Looking into this, they’ve actually pulled all of the themes created by Istanbulls. Weird.
Istanbulls is an elite developer on ThemeForest, so I knew when I saw that they had another new music theme for sale, I had to review it. That’s what Istanbulls is known for, great looking, very functional WordPress themes for musicians, bands, DJs and others in the music profession. If you’ve never heard of Instanbulls, you may be more familiar with their old username on ThemeForest, Pockbe. But a couple years ago, they changed their name. Same great themes, different user name.
No big deal.
Istanbulls has included a ton of value addons for their Mix theme, like Visual Composer, Slider Revolution, a pair of Mass Addons packs, audio player 1.0, Essential grid 2.1, Block Builder 1.1 for Visual Composer, Templatera, Visual Composer Ultimate Layouts and Mega Menu too. That’s over $200 worth of addons and it helps make Mix a really great value. For a band, a musician, music venue or small online radio station, that’s a ton of great features to help make your site run smoothly and help it look the way you want it to look.
Mix supports tons of music players too, giving you incredible flexibility. Soundcloud, Shoutcast, you can link to MP3 files or upload them yourself. You’ll be able to create drag and drop playlists or use any online radio service. As for tracking your online successes, you can see listen statistics, download statistics and more.
***EDIT – Okay, I got to the bottom of this issue. Check this out, a couple reviews and comments from just before Mix was pulled.
This Mix WordPress theme relies on bundled plugins that you would otherwise have to buy, but it appears they aren’t fully functioning and the comments are that you must buy them. They cost almost as much as the theme.
And it would seem that none of these issues were ever addressed. So, bad service, the old switcheroo in terms of having to purchase the plugins and that adds up to a bad theme that I’m glad they pulled. Mix isn’t the only theme that should be yanked post haste, but it’s good to see ThemeForest cleaning up the obvious trash.
This is superfood, a vibrant, organically fun WordPress theme for food products, healthy living and downhome cooking. Yeehaw!
Superfood is simple to use, easy to customize and it provides a cornucopia of options for styles, feels and looks. Wanta food blog that’s completely into social media? Super Food is devfionitely that. This thing is like a Kardashian with the Tweetagramming and the Instafacing.
I love the look of this template, Super Food gives you a dozen different homepage layouts to choose from. Now, if you don’t like the images, don’t worry, you’ll be subbing in your own. That’s something I noticed anout this theme, not all the images are things I’d pick. They’re okay, but I don’t know. I love them but I’m not *in* love with them. That’s nonsense anyway.
Super Food is a popular offering from Elated Themes a relatively new theme maker but one that’s made an impression on a lot of folks already. Let’s peep some other designs really quick.
For a food blog theme, you could definitely do a lot worse than Superfood!
Check out the coffees shop demo. Cool fonts seem to be necessary for a good coffee shop. My favorite font maker is House Industries. Sudtipos is good too. In fact, I love Sudtipos so much, I used their Calgary Script font on my site’s logo. How do you like that?
Or the bakery look. I can practically smell myself getting fatter. One thing I really do value about Super Food, the demo sites really do cover a wide array of what you could do with the template if you buy it.
Here’s a grocery store theme, ideal for small grocers, organic shops, even local coops.
How about this traditional WordPress restaurant theme look?
While Food Blog is obviously meant to be a, well, a food blog primarily, the portfolio page is snappy and fun. I think it lends itself pretty well to any sort of portfolio site, though maybe it’s a bit specialized for some tastes.
Okay, so that’s Superfood. What do you think? If you want to get into a food blog, it’s a great choice. And still solid for some other uses too.
This portfolio WordPress theme is filled with creative features. It’s called Laconic, which is a terrible name, frankly. Not that all names have to be great, but laconic means it doesn’t have much to say, using very few words, being terse or succinct, perhaps to a fault. That’s a dumb name because this theme works really hard to be as good as it can be and it says a lot while doing it. But either way, it’s super user friendly, it’s highly modifiable, reliable and brilliant in it’s stylish and clean design. Laconic is versatile, perfectly coded and completely responsive, great for design studios, publicity businesses, graphic designers, ad businesses or photography enthusiasts.
